Welcome back to Kepware's Quarterly Newsletter, "The Kepware Connection". We had a busy 4th Quarter and a great 2008 - over 35% growth! And, we have a lot to share. Please take a few minutes to catch up on what's new and what we have coming for you in 2009.

Recently Released
Kepware has just released five new drivers to be included in its release of KEPServerEX Version 4.5. We deliver these new drivers, and continually maintain our vast list of the existing drivers. The new drivers include; Allen-Bradley 1609 UPS, Beckhoff TwinCAT I/O, Cutler-Hammer ELC Ethernet, Opto 22 Ethernet and System Monitor.

Industrial Defender Driver for KEPServerEX V5 [March, 2009]
With the initial release of Verion 5, we will also be releasing the Industrial Defender driver for KEPServerEX. We jointly developed a version of Industrial Defender's host intrusion detection software as a new, free-of-charge, KEPServerEX Security Agent Driver Plug-in. This new Plug-in will provide valuable security information with the ability to track and monitor cyber security parameters of the environment including failed login attempts, file system consistency, removable media access, registry modifications, process and socket violations, and many other HMI / SCADA system parameters. New Licensing and Support Program [Q2, 2009]
Kepware will be moving to a new Licensing technology that will be delivering even more flexibility than our current licensing offering. In addition, we'll be offering a support and upgrade subscription program. This new offering will be rolled out in the Q2 timeframe. ... Read more>>

Tony Paine inducted into the U of Maine College of Engineering Francis Crowe Society
Tony Paine, chief technology officer at Kepware Technologies in Portland, has been inducted into the University of Maine College of Engineering Francis Crowe Society as a "Distinguished Engineer." The honor recognizes graduates "who have made considerable engineering contributions and honored the profession." Paine has worked for Kepware, a software company, for 11 years, and leads all product development for the 50-person company. Paine graduated from UMaine in 1996 with a degree in electrical engineering.
Kepware's Green packaging is now "eco" friendly
Kepware has recently changed its packaging for all of its software, moving away from the traditional plastic DVD case to a biodegradeable, renewable package using soy-based "eco" friendly inks. This is just one of the many steps Kepware has taken over the years to reduce its negative impact on our environment. Kepware creates New licensable products to deliver OPC Interoperability to OEMs

Kepware reworks its System Integrator Program
We have redesigned the System Integrator search capabilities on our website and have also created some additional benefit to the program. New benefits include; a company description and company logo posted in the SI search results. SI's who wish to submit an Application Story will receive an additional discount on the products mentioned in the submitted story.

Kepware getting ready to launch New U-CON Developers Program
Kepware is working on a new program aimed at System Integrators who use and develop communication profiles with our User Configurable OPC Server. Those who wish to develop "profiles" with U-CON will get access to free training and have a Certified U-CON Developer logo posted next to their company name our searchable database of System Integrators and a separate listing. The U-CON profiles are easily accessible from our U-CON Typical Applications section of the Kepware site. More details to come.
