HEADLINE: Kepware Technologies Releases U-CON Protocol Server (User-Configurable Protocol Server) and iSNMP Server
RELEASE: Yarmouth, ME, June 28, 2004 - Kepware Technologies, a leading worldwide supplier of OPC server technology, announces today the release of the U-CON Protocol Server. U-CON meaning User-CONfigurable, allows anyone with a basic knowledge of communications to quickly develop a driver to access data from any TCP/IP or Serial device and turn that data into useful OPC accessible information. Using simple menu-driven commands, the messages that need to be sent to and received from the target device can easily be created. Once the device "Profile" is built, U-CON allows the resulting data to be broken down and directly applied to any OPC enabled application. Available in both Development and Runtime components, U-CON suits the need of OEMs who need to develop their communications applications once and deploy working units at a lower price point.

Kepware also announces the availability of our new iSNMP OPC server. SNMP or Simple Network Management Protocol allows key operational information to be gathered from managed networked devices. Using this key information can be crucial to solving numerous communications issues as well as gathering unique status information. Once configured, the iSNMP OPC server will automatically gather data making it available to any OPC enabled application. Now any HMI can become a powerful network monitoring application.
