Kepware Technologies announces OEM agreement with Robert Owen Inc.
RELEASE: Portland, ME May 9, 2007 -- Portland, Maine; Kepware Technologies announces an OEM agreement with Robert
Owen Inc. to supply device communications software,
to collect data from Robert Owen sensor and signal
conversion hardware.
Kepware's U-CON
Protocol Server is a configurable
software product used to acquire data from serial
and Ethernet devices like weigh scales, barcode scanners,
RFID readers, sensors, digital displays, GPS systems,
meters, printers, and more. U-CON's menu-driven interface
and built-in OPC/DDE server dramatically improve
the reliability and scalability of data acquisition
applications. Robert Owen Inc. manufactures their
ROI-USB A-D series of sensor and data acquisition
hardware, along with thermistor temperature sensors,
which acquire temperature data in real time directly,
for a variety of applications, into an application
running on a PC. Typical data collection applications
are off-the-shelf HMIs and Historians or custom applications
developed in Visual Basic or Excel. Robert Owen Inc.
will recommend and resell U-CON for customers who
need a standardized method to pass ROI-USB A-D sensor
data into OPC and DDE enabled client applications.
For people unfamiliar with Kepware's U-CON product,
it combines a configurable device communications
interface (transaction editor) with a reliable OPC/DDE
server. This allows users to quickly build their
custom device profile then run it through Kepware's
proven OPC/DDE server. According to Stan Ley of Robert
