ArchestrA 9.0 or InTouch Project Unable to Connect to the Server when It Is Running in Service Mode

Problem:
1. The ArchestrA 9.0 or InTouch project is unable to connect to the server when it is running as a service.

2. The FastDDE/SuiteLink tab is not displayed in Tools | Options.

Solution:
When the server runs as a service, it usually runs under the System account. KEPServerEX must be able to access the folder that contains the common or runtime ArchestrA files. InTouch also needs these files to make a FastDDE/SuiteLink connection to the server. If connecting to the server remotely from another PC, these files must be installed on the PC that the server is on. The folder must also be accessible to the account on which the server is running. To confirm these settings, navigate to Program Files | Common Files. Locate ArchestrA (or the applicable file folder) and view its properties. Then, select the Security tab and verify that the account under which the server is running has full control of that folder.

Note: To change the settings, users may need to uncheck Allow inheritable permissions from parent.
