Can I Connect when Running LinkMaster as a Service?

Last Update: 11/12/2018

For LinkMaster to connect to an OPC server, it must provide user credentials for authentication within the server. This happens automatically when the Process Mode is set to Interactive; however, when LinkMaster is running as a Service, it may be necessary to specify a local account for the Service to log on as. For more information, refer to the instructions below.

  1. View Services and locate the LinkMaster Runtime service.
  2. Open Properties and then select the Log On tab.
  3. Next, select This account and enter a valid user account and password.

Note: If LinkMaster and the OPC server are on two different computers, then both computers must contain the same user account with the same password.

For more information, refer to the Remote OPC DA - Quick Start Guide (DCOM) manual.
