Cannot Connect to a DeltaV OPC Server

Problem:
OPC client applications (like LinkMaster and the OPC DA Client driver for KEPServerEX) cannot connect to the DeltaV OPC Server.

Solution:
The DeltaV OPC Server requires that OPC DA clients connect and authenticate using a specific user account set up by DeltaV. If the client application is running as a Service, users must edit the Service's properties and add the DeltaV user to the Log On tab. If the application is running interactively, users must launch the application from the desktop of the DeltaV user.

Note: On a remote PC that is part of a workgroup, it will be necessary to create the same DeltaV user with the same password as the DeltaV OPC Server.
