Connecting Clients and Servers between Workgroups and Domains
Last Update: 11/12/2018
Domain and workgroups authenticate users differently. In a domain, a central point (called the "Domain Server") holds all security information for the network. In a workgroup, the security information resides locally on each computer. A common technology must be chosen between the computers that use domains and workgroups. For example, adding local users and groups to the domain computer will allow authentication of the workgroup computers.
