Converting a String Value to a Number

Last Update: 11/12/2018

For information on converting a string value to a number, refer to the instructions below.

  1. In the left-hand pane of the U-CON Transaction Editor, double-click on a tag to open the Tag Properties.
  2. Then, set the data type and data format to convert the data.

Note: The data type is what client applications can access. The data format is what is necessary to communicate to the device. For example, to convert the ASCII string 123.456 to a Float, select a data type of Float and a data format of ASCII Real. If available, click Format propertiesto set the data format's properties.
