Out of Range Errors Occur When Trying to Read I/O Addresses In a SLC5/05 PLC
Last Update: 11/7/2018
Problem:
Kepware's Allen-Bradley Ethernet Driver cannot read I/O addresses from a modular SLC5/05 PLC. Error messages indicating that the data requests are out of range are posted to the server's Event Log.
Possible Cause:
This usually occurs when the KEPServerEX project does not have all of the modular I/O slots configured in Device Properties. The driver needs to know the offset location for each data point order to properly access the I/O. The offset location is provided to the driver by configuring the slots in Device Properties.
Solution:
To remedy this, configure the slots in Device Properties.
