Supported Data Types

Last Update: 11/7/2018

Data type support depends on the driver being used and the memory type being accessed in the device. Each data type in the device will be converted if necessary before being provided to client applications as a client/server data type. For example, some devices store floating-point numbers in a non-IEEE format that is converted by the driver and given to clients as an IEEE format.

For a list of supported data types, refer to the product manual for the driver in use. To do so, open KEPServerEX and click Help | Driver Help. Then, select the driver from the list. The product manual includes an "Address Descriptions" section that describes the data types available in each memory type, as well as a "Data Types Description" section that defines the client/server data types.
