CIP Error 0x08 Received While Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Ethernet Driver Communicates with a SoftLogix PLC

Problem:
The CIP Error 0x08 (Unsupported Service) error message is received while the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Ethernet Driver is communicating with a SoftLogix 5800 controller. Both the communications settings and Device ID have been verified.

Solution:
When using a SoftLogix PLC, users must ensure that nothing interferes with communications to the SoftLogix device (since RSLinx is installed on the same machine). Furthermore, RSLinx on the SoftLogix PC should not have any Ethernet-based device drivers configured (such as Ethernet Device, Remote Devices via Gateway, and so forth).
