Unable to View a DSN Created by the ODBC Administrator

Last Update: 11/12/2018

This issue only occurs on 64-bit operating systems, and applies to the following drivers and plug-ins:

  • ODBC Client Driver
  • Advanced Simulator Driver
  • DataLogger

The 64-bit version of the Windows operating system includes the following Microsoft Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) Data Source Administrator tools:

  • The 32-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file, which is located in %systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64.
  • The 64-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file, which is located in %systemdrive%\Windows\System32.

The Odbcad32.exe file displays the following Data Source Names (DSNs):

  • System DSNs
  • User DSNs

KEPServerEX is a 32-bit application. When using any of the ODBC-based drivers or plug-ins, it will call the 32-bit version of the ODBC Administrator tool (which will display 32-bit system DSNs, 32-bit user DSNs, and 64-bit user DSNs). For more information on DSN accessibility by bit version, refer to the table below.
