Unable to Transfer a Product Activation Off a Virtual Machine

KEPServerEX versions 5.0 to 5.7 do not allow product activations to be transferred off Virtual Machines.

Contact Kepware to discuss options, or use the following procedure:

  1. Create a backup of the project file using File | Save As.
  2. Upgrade KEPServerEX to version 5.8 or newer.
  3. Follow the steps found in the License Utility product manual to transfer the license back to My Kepware.
  4. On the new location, install a version of KEPServerEX that is supported by the Software Activation ID.
  5. Activate KEPServerEX and load the backup project file.
