Unable to Transfer a Product Activation Off a Virtual Machine

Problem:
KEPServerEX versions 5.0 to 5.7 do not allow product activations to be transferred off Virtual Machines.
Solution:
Contact Kepware to discuss options, or use the following procedure:
- Create a backup of the project file using File | Save As.
- Upgrade KEPServerEX to version 5.8 or newer.
- Follow the steps found in the License Utility product manual to transfer the license back to My Kepware.
- On the new location, install a version of KEPServerEX that is supported by the Software Activation ID.
- Activate KEPServerEX and load the backup project file.
