Unable to Receive Traps or Events from Managed Devices

Last Update: 11/7/2018

The SNMP driver is configured to receive traps from one or more managed devices; however, nothing is appearing in the driver's Event Tags even though other managers are displaying the traps.

Possible Cause:
1. The device is not configured to send traps or events to the IP address of the PC on which the driver is running.
2. The device is not sending traps or events to the port number on which the driver is listening.
3. The PC is configured with multiple network cards or has multiple IP addresses assigned to a single card, but the channels in the project are configured to use the default card.

1. Ensure that the device is configured to send traps or events to the correct IP address.
2. Ensure that the device is sending the traps or events to the correct port number.
3. When multiple cards are installed on the PC or a single card is multi-homed to support multiple IP addresses, ensure that the channel is configured to use the correct network card or IP address.
