The Allen-Bradley 1609 UPS Driver Automatically Generates Tags for Objects that Do Not Exist in the Device
Last Update: 11/7/2018
Problem:
The Allen-Bradley 1609 UPS driver automatically generates tags for the device; however, when some of those tags are read with a client application, they return bad quality. An error is posted in the server's Event Log that the object does not exist.
Possible Cause:
By design, the driver is hard coded with the Object Identifiers (OIDs) for all possible configurations of the Allen-Bradley UPS 1609. The availability of those OIDs depends on the features that are configured or enabled in the device.
Solution:
Use the OPC Quick Client to identify the OIDs that are not available in the device, and then delete them from the project.
Note: Once the device notifies the server that an OID does not exist, it will no longer requested by the server for polling.
