LinkMaster: The Difference between the Server Update Rate and the Client I/O Refresh Rate

The Server Update Rate subscribes all of the Link Items in a Link Group to receive Unsolicited Asynchronous Data Updates (which are also referred to as "Report by Exception" and "Data Change Events"). After the server provides an initial update for all items, LinkMaster will only receive updates on the Link Inputs when an item's value or quality changes. Link Outputs will only be written when the Link Input value changes.

The Client I/O Refresh Rate specifies the interval at which LinkMaster will send an Asynchronous Read from device to the server for all Link Items. This will override the normal optimized background polling that is done for Unsolicited Asynchronous processing. Because it is a forced read of all Link Input items, the server will provide updates of all items even if the values and qualities have not changed. All Link Outputs will be written.

Note 1: The Client I/O Refresh Rate should not be set to the same value as the Server Update Rate: doing so will essentially override it. To disable the function, set the value to 0.

Note 2: LinkMaster only writes the value to the Link Output item.
