Unable to Write to an Object Identifier in a Table That Has Read/Write Access

Problem:
When writing to an Object Identifier (OID) in a table with Read/Write access, the write fails with the "Unable to write to address '<OID>' on device '<device>'" error message.

Possible Cause:
It is likely that the OID being written to is referenced with an offset. The Set Request (which is used to write to an OID) is unable to resolve the object with the offset.

Solution:
Use the instance address for the object.

Note: For example, a router may have a table for each of its ports that allows the port to be enabled/disabled. To enable/disable Port 2, the offset reference may be ".1.3.6.1.4.1.8691.7.6.1.9.1.1.3[2]". To prevent an error from occurring, use the instance reference ".1.3.6.1.4.1.8691.7.6.1.9.1.1.3.2".
