Connecting to the Ethernet Port on a Mitsubishi Q Series CPU

KEPServerEX can communicate with a Mitsubishi Q Series PLC via its built-in Ethernet port. In order for the Mitsubishi Ethernet Driver to communicate with the built-in Ethernet port, some network parameters must be configured in the PLC. In GX Works2, these parameters are located in the built-in Ethernet Port Setting tab in PLC Parameter. For more information, refer to the instructions below.

  1. To start, enter the required information for the IP Address Setting. Then, ensure that Communication Data Code is set to Binary.
  2. In Open Setting, specify the Protocol as UDP or TCP. Then, set Open System to MC Protocol.
  3. Next, specify the Host Station Port No. The driver's default ports of 5000 UDP and 5001 TCP are not valid port numbers for the built-in Ethernet port. The driver uses decimal numbers for the port number. In GX Works2, the port numbers are in hexadecimal. Valid port number setting ranges are 0401H (1025) to 1387H (4999) and 1392H (5010) to FFFEH (65534).

    Important: The built-in Ethernet port does not have a network number or a station number. In the driver, set the network number to 0 and the station number to 255 in the General tab located in Device Properties (either IP_ADDRESS:N0:255 or IP_ADDRESS:255).
