What is the Difference Between the Oracle Connectivity Suite and the ODBC Client Driver with Oracle Databases?

Last Update: 2018/11/7

The Oracle Connectivity Suite is specifically designed for connecting to an Oracle database and pushing configured data into the Oracle MOC or MES (Discrete Operation) management systems. The suite uses store and forward to ensure that no data is lost if the connection to the database fails. For MOC data, the suite updates individual items or groups via complex data support. The ODBC Driver uses a legacy ODBC interface, and does not have a store and forward functionality. Data insertion is completed via stored procedures.
