Cannot View the iFIX PDB Settings Tab

Problem:
The iFIX PDB Settings tab (located in the Options menu in KEPServerEX V4 and in Project Properties in KEPServerEX V5) is not visible.

Possible Causes:
1. iFIX may not be installed on the computer.
2. If using KEPServerEX V4 and iFIX 5.1 or higher, the KEPServerEX installation will check the Windows Registry for supported versions of iFIX from GE Intelligent Platforms. Because iFIX 5.1 and higher have unique entries in the registry, the installation assumes that the product is not supported.

Solutions:
1. Ensure that iFIX is installed on the computer.
2. If using KEPServerEX V4, upgrade to KEPServerEX version 5.3.156 or higher. If upgrading is not possible due to licensing constraints, add a registry entry in the Windows Registry for an iFIX version that KEPServerEX V4 will accept as supported. For more information, refer to the instructions below.

Note: It is recommended that users back up the Windows Registry before making changes.

  1. To start, launch the command prompt and enter "regedit". Then, click OK.
  2. Add the following key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GE Fanuc\Proficy HMI SCADA - iFIX 5.0].
  3. Next, re-run the KEPServerEX V4 installation package and select Update. Then, finish the install.
